Flag Football Recap: Hawkinsville Takes a Loss

Hawkinsville fell victim to Telfair County and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Trojans 40-0. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Trojans are ranked 28th).

Rheaghan Powers threw for 45 yards on five of eight attempts. Kahshayla Duhart was her top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Malia Hunlen rushed for 30 yards.

Hawkinsville is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for Telfair County, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Hawkinsville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-6 loss against Treutlen on the 5th. As for Telfair County, they have also already played their next game, a 50-6 victory against Montgomery County on the 6th.
