Volleyball Recap: Iowa-Grant Comes Up Short

Iowa-Grant lost against Seneca back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

While Iowa-Grant ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17.

Layla Ritchie paced Iowa-Grant's offense, picking up eight kills. Ritchie got some help from Carly Shores and her eight assists. Finally, Ritchie was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Iowa-Grant has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Seneca, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Iowa-Grant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Darlington on the 20th. As for Seneca, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Belleville on the 20th.
