Basketball Recap: Blair Cooper's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Draughn over Burns

Draughn was the 66-39 winner over Burns when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Draughn Wildcats lost 73-47 to the Burns Bulldogs on Friday. The Wildcats were down 57-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Draughn's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blair Cooper, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Lytle, who had 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Draughn and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Burns, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Draughn will challenge Freedom at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Draughn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for Burns, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-63 loss against Kings Mountain on the 9th.
