Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Si). Everything went their way against the North Kitsap Vikings on Friday as they made off with a 12-6 victory. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly six runs.

Drew Hossfeld looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Mentink, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Talbot, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Mount Si and bumps their season record up to 12-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for North Kitsap, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-4-1 record.

Mount Si does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Kitsap, they will face off against Sequim at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
