Softball Recap: Kenosha Tremper Takes a Loss

Kenosha Tremper had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it four. They came up short against the Oak Creek Knights, falling 11-0. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kenosha Tremper saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camille Sporer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Sporer has hit this season.

As for Oak Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

On Oak Creek's side, Rita Sippy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Sippy has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Oak Creek let Lyla Bray and Kennedy Christopher run wild. Bray went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Christopher went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Mank, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Kenosha Tremper will face off against Westosha Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oak Creek, they will take on Indian Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
