Soccer Game Preview: Groton School vs. Lawrence Academy

Groton School will head out on the road to square off against the Lawrence Academy Spartans at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Groton School's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Groton School came up short against Rivers on Saturday, falling 7-1.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Lawrence Academy's offense. They lost 3-0 to St. George's on Saturday. Lawrence Academy have struggled against St. George's recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lawrence Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Groton School, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-3.

Groton School beat Lawrence Academy by a goal in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Groton School since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
