Basketball Recap: Shenandoah Takes a Loss

Shenandoah dropped down to 3-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through an 85-42 loss at the hands of the Eastern Hancock Royals. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Shenandoah had strong showings from Gabbi Patrick, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Reid Helman, who posted nine points and five boards. Patrick's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

As for Eastern Hancock, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points over those games.

McKenzie Koch continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double with 46 points, 12 boards, and 12 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Eastern Hancock's points. Another player making a difference was Bella Sotelo, who went 10-for-18 en route to 22 points and four steals.

Shenandoah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-25 win against Frankton on the 28th. As for Eastern Hancock, they will face off against Wapahani at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
