Softball Recap: Wellesley Victorious

The Wellesley Raiders had just enough and edged out the Arlington Spy Ponders 3-1 on Monday.

Elizabeth McDonnell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wellesley's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Stathis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Haleigh Bibbo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Wellesley's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Arlington, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

As of now, neither Wellesley nor the Spy Ponders have any future games scheduled.
