Basketball Recap: Maekayla Rameau's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sandusky over Columbian

Sandusky lost against Columbian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sandusky Blue Streaks fell 69-59 to the Columbian Tornadoes.

Sandusky lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maekayla Rameau, who went 10 for 24 to rack up 24 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Rameau's fourth in a row with at least 24 points. Another player making a difference was Shauntha Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Sandusky smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 27 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Sandusky's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Columbian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Sandusky will head out on the road to take on Ross at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
