Seckinger typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Gainesville proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Jaguars 3-1.

Dawson Vaughn made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gainesville is 3-1 when Vaughn allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 4-11 otherwise. Vaughn was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Vaughn wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Asher Stephens, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Gainesville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. Seckinger's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.
