Barstow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Adelanto Saints. Even though they lost, the Aztecs' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Elizibeth Arreola made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalyn Ayala, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
Barstow's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Adelanto, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barstow will challenge Hesperia Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Aztecs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Adelanto, they will square off against Granite Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
