Basketball Recap: Lower Dauphin Takes a Loss

Lower Dauphin lost against Lampeter-Strasburg back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lower Dauphin Falcons were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers.

It was another big night for Chase Smucker, who went 9 for 22 on his way to 26 points for Lampeter-Strasburg. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smucker has scored at least a third of Lampeter-Strasburg's points. Jared Hostetter was another key player, going 5 of 12 to rack up 11 points.

Lower Dauphin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Coming up, Lower Dauphin will welcome Mifflin County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they will head out to take on Ephrata at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lampeter-Strasburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season.
