Basketball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were dealt a 56-21 defeat at the hands of the Mountain View Toros. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Toros recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Jordan Seiuli, who posted eight points and 15 rebounds. Seiuli has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played.

Mountain View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Millie Ahlstrom out in front who went 6 of 13 on her way to 18 points and five steals. Ahlstrom continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Fischbeck, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Mountain View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will host Browne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline is facing Browne at the right time seeing as Browne is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will square off against Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cibola knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Mountain View likes a good challenge.
