Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Freedom Christian Academy + How To Watch

Grace Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots by a score of 74-67 on Friday. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grace Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaedyn Cole, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 20 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Caleb Ellis, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Grace Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Grace Christian will challenge St. Thomas More Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 124-100 win against Oak City Prep on the 10th.
