Football Game Preview: Burbank Bulldogs vs. Lanier Voks

The Burbank Bulldogs will face off against the Lanier Voks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Burbank is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Edison 47-13 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Golden Bears: they've now won eight in a row.

Edward Rodriguez had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 255 yards and four TDs on only 12 carries, while also picking up 33 receiving yards. Those 255 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Bryan Jalomo was another key player, rushing for 81 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Burbank was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 426 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Lanier humbled Edison with a 41-13 victory. Considering the Voks have won three contests by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Burbank's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Lanier, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Burbank strolled past Lanier when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 49-32. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Voks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
