Basketball Recap: Cochranton Gets the Win

On Thursday, the Cochranton Cardinals were able to grind out a solid victory over the Greenville Trojans, taking the game 69-62. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Walker Carroll was a one-man wrecking crew for Cochranton as he dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Carroll has scored at least a third of Cochranton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Rynd, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points.

Cochranton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Greenville, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Cochranton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Franklin at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. As for Greenville, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Cambridge Springs at 2:30 p.m.
