Softball Preview: West Linn Lions vs. Lake Oswego Lakers        
        
		
            
 West Linn and Lake Oswego are an even 5-5 against one another  since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The West Linn Lions will be playing at home against the Lake Oswego Lakers at 6:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Linn has 13 straight  victories, Lake Oswego has three straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 If West Linn beats Lake Oswego with nine  runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the  squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two  matchups with that exact score. West Linn narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past Tualatin  9-7.
 West Linn got a great performance from  Avery Wolf as she  didn't allow a single  earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Rylee Gaustad was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.  Emily Sakys was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  RBI,  and a  double.
 Meanwhile, Lake Oswego fell victim to Oregon City and their airtight pitching crew  on Friday. They took  a  5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers. The shutout was out of character for Lake Oswego seeing as the last time the team failed to score was  back in March.
 West Linn's victory was  their ninth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Lake Oswego, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
 West Linn took their  win against Lake Oswego  in their previous matchup  last Friday by a conclusive  18-1. Will West Linn repeat their success,  or does  Lake Oswego have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
