If The Lacey Township Lions were feeling good off their 42-21 takedown of the Toms River East Raiders last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lacey Township fell 14-7 to Red Bank Regional on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Lacey Township couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Lacey Township still got an impressive performance from Nicholas Maertens, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Lacey Township's defeat was their third straight at home , which bumped their record down to 3-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.7 points per game. As for Red Bank Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
