Basketball Recap: Classics Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked East New York Family Academy

Classics hadn't done well against East New York Family Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Classics managed a 66-62 win over East New York Family Academy. The victory was all the more spectacular given Classics' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while East New York Family Academy is ranked 140th).

Classics pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for East New York Family Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Classics wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-61 defeat against All City Leadership Academy on the 10th. East New York Family Academy has also already played their next contest, a 96-71 victory against Teachers Prep on the 10th.
