Basketball Recap: McDonough Comes Up Short

McDonough lost against Union Grove on January 4th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The McDonough Warhawks came up short against the Union Grove Wolverines, falling 76-50. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Wolverines are ranked 104th).

Despite the loss, McDonough still got an impressive performance from Jadah Rembert, who posted 27 points. Another player making a difference was Amira Carter, who put up eight points.

McDonough has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Union Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

McDonough has already played their next match, a 62-37 defeat against Ola on the 25th. As for Union Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-42 victory against Hampton on the 25th.
