Basketball Recap: Moberly Comes Up Short

Moberly was the 50-43 winner over Boonville when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Moberly Spartans were dealt a 69-21 loss at the hands of the Boonville Pirates on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Pirates are ranked 163rd).

Moberly has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Boonville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Moberly has already played their next match (against Fulton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Boonville has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Centralia.
