Baseball Recap: Grace Wins Going Away Against Vasquez

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Grace walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Vasquez Mustangs on Thursday. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kyle Zahn, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Van was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Grace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vasquez only posted an OBP of .364.

Grace's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Vasquez, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-8.

Coming up, Grace will challenge Silverado at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Vasquez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
