Baseball Game Preview: Kittitas Coyotes vs. Warden Cougars

The Kittitas Coyotes will head out to take on the Warden Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kittitas' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Warden's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Kittitas' usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Cle Elum-Roslyn hitters got past them. The Coyotes lost 17-10 to the Warriors on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Coyotes have suffered since May 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, Warden fell victim to Tri-Cities Prep and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 11-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Warden's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Kittitas, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.

Kittitas came out on top in a nail-biter against Warden in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
