Basketball Recap: Oneida Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oneida can now relate to. They took a 64-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Greene Rebels on Saturday. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Oneida still got an impressive performance from Grady Keeton, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 26 points. Keeton continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ben Gilbert, who posted four points and nine boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Greene to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chandler Gamble, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gamble has scored at least a third of South Greene's points. Elgin Gentry was another key player, shooting 58% from the field en route to 18 points.

Oneida's loss dropped their record down to 10-19. As for South Greene, they pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Oneida does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Greene has already played their next matchup (against Austin-East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
