Football Recap: Walkertown Piles Up the Points Against Bartlett Yancey

The Walkertown Wolfpack took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-23 win over the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-8.

Leading Walkertown to victory were Jerrell Crawford and Nasir Conrad. Crawford threw for 179 yards and three TDs, while Conrad rushed for 96 yards and a pair of scores. Hunter Cruise also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Walkertown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Walkertown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Vartiece Hamilton and Brian Highsmith Jr. Walkertown got some further help from Jarrett Poe: he picked up a sack and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Walkertown's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bartlett Yancey, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
