Basketball Recap: Unity Reed Falls to Rock Ridge in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Unity Reed kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. The contest between the Lions and the Rock Ridge Phoenix didn't end well, with the Lions falling 57-38. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Lions who fell 59-56 when the teams previously met back in December of 2023.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Russell Robinson, who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Xzavyir Martin, who put up seven points along with six rebounds and five blocks.

Unity Reed didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-61 loss against John Champe on the 3rd. As for Rock Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-30 victory against Justice on the 2nd.
