Baseball Game Preview: Hilliard Bradley Jaguars vs. Mifflin Punchers

The Hilliard Bradley Jaguars will face off against the Mifflin Punchers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hilliard Bradley will be strutting in after a victory while Mifflin will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Hilliard Bradley needed a bit of extra time to put away Dublin Coffman. They came out on top against the Shamrocks by a score of 8-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since April 9th.

The team relied heavily on Keaton Bowers, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Vince Navarro was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hilliard Bradley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Mifflin's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 13-3 to Whetstone. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Punchers have suffered since April 9, 2024.

Mifflin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wilfred Torres, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Torres has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Hilliard Bradley's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Mifflin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
