Recap: Groom Tigers vs. Sunray Bobcats

This season hasn't been kind to the Groom Tigers, who are still winless after their sixth game. They fell just short of Sunray by a score of 43-40. Groom was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sunray apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Sunray's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carly Neeley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Neeley set a new season high mark in steals with four. Another player making a difference was Adamariz Mendoza, who scored 14 points along with five steals.

Groom bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sunray, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groom will be home for the holidays to greet River Road at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunray will be home for the holidays to greet Canadian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Canadian is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
