Softball Recap: Desert Christian Takes a Loss

If Desert Christian was riding high fresh off their 18-3 takedown of San Miguel on March 5th, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Desert Christian lost 16-6 to the Bisbee Pumas on Monday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pumas from their previous meeting back in February of 2023.

Alexa Yarger was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emmy Welch, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Desert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bisbee, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. As for Bisbee, they will head out on the road to take on Tombstone at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bisbee is facing Tombstone at the right time seeing as Tombstone is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
