Basketball Recap: Lake County Comes Up Short

Lake County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-63 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arvada Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Cameron Henderson was a one-man wrecking crew for Arvada as he shot 5-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Henderson has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Deymian Than, who posted 18 points and four steals.

Lake County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Arvada, with the victory, they broke their 12-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake County will head out to face off against Platte Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Platte Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Arvada, they will venture away from home to square off against The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
