Baseball Game Preview: South-Doyle Cherokees vs. Gibbs Eagles

The South-Doyle Cherokees will head out to face off against the Gibbs Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Things were looking good for South-Doyle after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 15-7 to McEwen.

Mason Knowles was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Zander Wilkerson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Gibbs didn't have quite enough to beat Anderson County on Tuesday and fell 5-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gibbs' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for South-Doyle, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

South-Doyle couldn't quite finish off Gibbs in their previous meeting back in February and fell 4-2. Can South-Doyle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
