Volleyball Recap: Knoxville Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jolie Sheddan and Zila Hardin

It was a proper cat-fight when Knoxville Central took on Oak Ridge on Tuesday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Bobcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wildcats since Tuesday.

Knoxville Central actually scored more points across those five sets (106-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-25, 15-12.

Zila Hardin and Jolie Sheddan certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hardin had 17 digs and two aces, while Sheddan had eight digs and two aces. Sheddan is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Knoxville Central's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 14-4. As for Oak Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-17 record this season.

Knoxville Central has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Anderson County on the 25th. As for Oak Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Campbell County on the 25th.
