Recap: Andrews Wildcats vs. Hayesville Yellowjackets

The Andrews Wildcats came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Hayesville by a score of 58-50. Given Andrews' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Hayesville is ranked 465th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andrews to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Rattler, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. Gabe Clark was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Andrews has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Hayesville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrews will stay at home for another game and welcome Swain County at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Swain County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Andrews likes a good challenge. Hayesville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Nantahala at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Nantahala is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
