Soccer Game Preview: South Johnston vs. Hunt

South Johnston is 0-6 against Hunt since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. South Johnston will be playing at home against Hunt at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, South Johnston turned things around against Southern Wayne on Friday. They never let the Saints get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Hunt had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past East Wake 10-0. The result was nothing new for Hunt, who have now won five contests by nine goals or more so far this season.

They hit East Wake with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Caylee Rountree (3), Madyson Brown (3), Mariah Polk (3), and Avalyn Hooks.

Hunt's win bumped their record up to 6-2-2. As for South Johnston, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6.

South Johnston suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Hunt when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can South Johnston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
