Union Pines is 1-9 against Pinecrest since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Pinecrest took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Union Pines, who comes in off a win.
Union Pines is headed out to face Pinecrest after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over St. Pauls on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Jude Heisinger looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
At the plate, Union Pines let David Park and Willy Rivera run wild. Park got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Rivera went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. That's the most runs Park has posted since back in February of 2025. Josh Cox was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Terry Sanford hit Pinecrest with a seven-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 9-3.
Bohdi Robertson put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, William Chopping made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Liam Dutton, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Union Pines suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Pinecrest in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
