Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pope John Paul II walked away with it. They came out on top against the Mid Valley Spartans by a score of 5-0 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for Pope John Paul II, who have now won four matches in a row.

Not much got past Tyler Tindall, who gave up just two hits to keep Mid Valley off the board. Tindall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Glose, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Chase Frantz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Pope John Paul II was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Pope John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Mid Valley, they moved to 20-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
