Softball Game Preview: Cheltenham Panthers vs. Lower Moreland Lions

For the second straight game, Cheltenham will face off against Lower Moreland. The Panthers will head out to take on the Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cheltenham's last matchup with Lower Moreland could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Monday. The Panthers lost 10-0 to the Lions. The Panthers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

For Lower Moreland's part, Izzy O'Brien was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. O'Brien was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jordyn MacPhee was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Menchhofer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Lower Moreland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lower Moreland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for Cheltenham, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
