Baseball Recap: Gonzaga Prep Comes Up Short

Gonzaga Prep and Hanford squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Gonzaga Prep had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Bullpups' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Connor Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Gonzaga Prep's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Hanford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
