After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Texas, Vega was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 44-37 victory over the Sanford-Fritch Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Longhorns: when they faced off against the Eagles back in January, they had to take a 47-40 loss.

Vega's win bumped their record up to 5-22. As for Sanford-Fritch, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Vega will venture away from home to square off against Sunray at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Sanford-Fritch, they will take on Gruver at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gruver will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Sanford-Fritch surely won't give up without a fight.
