Softball Recap: Von Steuben Comes Up Short

Von Steuben was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Jones Eagles, falling 16-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 last Monday.

Skye Rojek was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Claire Hull was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Von Steuben now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Jones, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Von Steuben will face off against Senn at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jones, they will square off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolfpack have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
