Volleyball Recap: Norton's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Norton entered their tilt with Ravenna on Thursday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Ravens. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Norton took every set by at least 18 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-7, 25-7.

Norton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Helena Garofalo led the charge by getting 19 assists and six aces. That's the most assists Garofalo has posted over her last eight contests. Khloe Kline also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Norton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ravenna only served three.

Norton's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Ravenna, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Coincidentally, Norton and Ravenna will both be playing Woodridge the next time they take the court. The Panthers will host the Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, while the Ravens will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
