Recap: Nash Central Bulldogs vs. Hertford County Bears

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Nash Central Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past Hertford County 71-68. The win was nothing new for Nash Central as they're now sitting on five straight.

James Rodgers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 313 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. Rodgers' longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Javaris Jones, who rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.

Nash Central has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Hertford County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Nash Central will head out on the road to face off against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Nash Central likes a good challenge. Hertford County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
