Baseball Recap: North Buncombe Victorious

While North Buncombe didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Mountain Heritage Cougars on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-3 two weeks ago.

Kameron Keenan made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Keenan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Stowe, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

North Buncombe's record now sits at 9-2. As for Mountain Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Buncombe will challenge Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mountain Heritage, they will face off against Polk County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
