Baseball Recap: Armstrong Has No Trouble Against Penn Hills

Armstrong was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Penn Hills on Monday. The River Hawks blew past the Indians 9-1. That looming 9-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the River Hawks yet this season.

Jacob Bowser made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other pitching news, Carson Delano looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Bowser wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Jablonski, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Brayden Wright was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Armstrong's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Penn Hills, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Armstrong beat the Indians by a score of 20-1 on Tuesday.
