Volleyball Recap: Mountain Brook Takes a Loss

Mountain Brook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Kenny Crusaders.

Bishop Kenny's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Ancayan, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most digs Ancayan has posted over her last eight contests. Chi Nduka also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Mountain Brook's defeat dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Bishop Kenny, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Mountain Brook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Helena on the 2nd. As for Bishop Kenny, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bolles at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
