Basketball Game Preview: Hampton Bulldogs vs. The First Academy Royals

The Hampton Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against The First Academy Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

The First Academy is hoping to do what South Greene couldn't on Friday: put an end to Hampton's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Hampton strolled past South Greene with points to spare, taking the game 71-55.

Hampton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Davenport out in front who went 7 for 17 on his way to 21 points and five assists. Davenport's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tuff Robinson, who posted 11 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

Meanwhile, The First Academy beat Sebastian River 63-51 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.

The First Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
