Softball Game Preview: Bellport Clippers vs. West Islip Lions

Bellport is 1-8 against West Islip since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Clippers will venture away from home to square off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Bellport has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Bellport's offense. They lost 15-0 to Smithtown West on Friday. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, West Islip had just enough and edged out Smithtown West 5-4 on April 4th. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Bellport's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for West Islip, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Bellport might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from West Islip in their previous matchup on April 2nd. Can the Clippers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
