Baseball Game Preview: Bartlett Indians vs. Tantasqua Regional Warriors

Bartlett is 1-8 against Tantasqua Regional since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Indians will square off against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bartlett came out on top against South on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Indians blew past the Colonels 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Mason Sebastyanski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Bartlett let Luigi Villegas and Adam Phillips run wild. Villegas got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Phillips went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Kenny Arpin, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tantasqua Regional won against Millbury on Tuesday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Warriors beat St. Paul by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.

Bartlett is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Tantasqua Regional, their record is now 9-2.

Bartlett might still be hurting after the 16-2 loss they got from Tantasqua Regional in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
