Soccer Game Preview: Davidson Academy vs. Goodpasture Christian

The Davidson Academy Bears will square off against the Goodpasture Christian Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Davidson Academy's victory against Mount Juliet Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Saints 3-2 on Tuesday. Davidson Academy haven't had any issues with Mount Juliet Christian Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Goodpasture Christian hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They never let Ezell-Harding Christian get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Two seems to be a good number for Goodpasture Christian as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Hite Hager and Ashton Watts scored both of Goodpasture Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Goodpasture Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five matches. As for Davidson Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Davidson Academy beat Goodpasture Christian 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
