Softball Recap: Morgantown Gets the Win

Morgantown got themselves on the board against Springfield on Thursday, but Springfield never followed suit. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Mohigans needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

LIZ ALSOP was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. KIRA SMITH also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Morgantown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only posted an OBP of .105.

Morgantown's record is now 4-5. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Morgantown will challenge Tunkhannock at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Springfield, they will face off against Ravenna at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
